2012 - Bob tours Rough & Ready, guided by owner Link Phillippi
Getting our people working is a top priority.
Small business is the engine of job creation.
We must free our local citizens to create jobs more easily, while recruiting other businesses to move into our county.
Bob will work to make Josephine County a business-friendly environment that fosters economic opportunity, from natural resources and manufacturing to tourism and recreation.
Federal government won't allow us to use our natural resources to sustain our local economy.
State government increasingly dictates how we can use our private property.
Josephine County should avoid adding to that burden.
Bob will fight to reduce regulatory burdens, uphold private property rights, and restore the productive use of our lands.
We must find new ways to promote personal responsibility, maintain public safety, and rebuild our local economy.
We have come to depend too much on government to solve our problems.
Bob will seek to further involve our churches, charities, businesses, and service clubs wherever possible, from helping neighborhoods organize for safety and preparedness to uniting to fight for our economic independence.
1989 - Bob Just, Jaime Escalante and President Ronald Reagan Passing the 'Teach Freedom Award' from Escalante to Reagan
Among the great privileges of my life - as a Reagan Conservative - was being the presenter of a Teach Freedom Award to President Ronald Reagan.
He believed, as I do, that many of our leaders in Washington have forgotten who we are as a people.
They have forgotten the significance of their oath to protect the Constitution.
They have forgotten how central faith is to our founding and to our freedom.
They have forgotten America.
I believe that we here in Josephine County can remind them by facing down our problems together during this financial crisis.
Top-down government has failed us. We need to govern more from the bottom up, the way our founding fathers intended.
Bob has a strong track record as a grassroots leader, working with people of all backgrounds and political persuasions to get real world results.
Bob will use his national media access to call attention to the way big government policies are undermining local communities like ours.
We need a new kind of leadership. Bob is a new kind of leader.

2002 Josephine County C-FAC Homeland Security Meeting
Not long ago I was challenged to consider running for commissioner partly because of my community work.
Now, anyone who listened to me on KOPE-FM radio in the 1990s, or on KDOV-FM over the last several years, knows that I don't usually get involved in local politics because in 1994 Jeff Boone, Bill Evensen and I founded Concerned Fathers Against Crime (C-FAC) as a non-political group.
I no longer run the group locally, but hundreds of concerned fathers who have patrolled this county can tell you, C-FAC is about service – not politics.
If elected, I intend to serve Josephine County in the same way, not with politics but with solutions that come from asking the right questions and then finding the right people to get involved.
